Stitching Dreams, Weaving Futures
In the rural village of Thoor (Badgaon Panchayat, Udaipur, Rajasthan), four women—Sita, Neha, Chanda, and Lalita—once limited to household chores, dared to dream of a better life. With only basic stitching skills, earning an income seemed impossible—until opportunity knocked. Through a 41-day free training program by AICRP-WIA, MPUAT, Udaipur Centre, in collaboration with ANWARAT Foundation, these women were trained in tailoring, design, and entrepreneurship. What began as learning to stitch kurtis and blouses soon transformed into building confidence, teamwork, and business skills. Pooling their strengths, they formed ‘Dhagini’, a home-based tailoring unit that now collaborates with fashion designers and delivers quality stitched wear. Today, each member earns over ₹5,000 per month, supports her family with pride, and dreams of expanding the group to empower more rural women. Dhagini’s journey—from homemakers to entrepreneurs—is proof that when women are given skills, support, and opportunity, they not only transform their own lives but also uplift their communities. From stitching in silence to stitching success, Dhagini stands as a living example of rural empowerment.
थूर गाँव की महिलाएँ बनीं उद्यमी – शुरू किया ‘धागिनी’
ग्रामीण गांव थूर (बड़गांव पंचायत, उदयपुर, राजस्थान) में चार महिलाओं—सीता, नेहा, चंदा और ललिता—ने कभी घरेलू कामों तक सीमित रहकर बेहतर जीवन का सपना देखा। केवल बुनियादी सिलाई कौशल के साथ आय अर्जित करना असंभव लग रहा था—तब तक जब अवसर ने दस्तक नहीं दी। अनवरत फाउंडेशन के सहयोग से एआईसीआरपी-डब्ल्यूआईए, एमपीयूएटी, उदयपुर केंद्र द्वारा 41 दिवसीय निशुल्क प्रशिक्षण कार्यक्रम के माध्यम से इन महिलाओं को सिलाई, डिजाइन और उद्यमिता का प्रशिक्षण दिया गया। कुर्ती और ब्लाउज सिलना सीखने से जो शुरुआत हुई वह जल्द ही आत्मविश्वास, टीम वर्क और व्यावसायिक कौशल के निर्माण में बदल गई। अपनी शक्तियों को एकत्रित करके उन्होंने ‘धागिनी’ का गठन किया गृहिणी से उद्यमी बनने तक, धगिनी का सफ़र इस बात का प्रमाण है कि जब महिलाओं को कौशल, सहयोग और अवसर दिए जाते हैं, तो वे न केवल अपना जीवन बदल देती हैं, बल्कि अपने समुदायों का भी उत्थान करती हैं। चुपचाप सिलाई करने से लेकर सफलता की ओर कदम बढ़ाने तक, धगिनी ग्रामीण सशक्तिकरण की एक जीवंत मिसाल हैं।
